Where shall I start? I knew from the get-go it was going to be a busy day selling pre sale tickets. I did sound check...and that went well (chyea right). Beginning of the night as I got to Cine El Rey there was a comedy show going on. It was suppose to end at 10:30pm the latest. But the idiot comedian didn't stop till near 11pm!! There only about 5 people there to see him. We did not open the balcony part of our show till he was done. That pissed me off a little bit. As soon as he finished we finally started the night. Everything went well...till I started to notice when my buddy Flux and I started djing. Everything was fine on my part. But when Flux was playing tunes...the sound was acting up on us. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was the mixer. When Mr.Ross got on to play. The sound just got worse. As time passed by...the sound completely turned off except the monitor! I got more mad than I already was! We tried switching wires...thought the Amp over heated...but that wasn't the problem. My buddy Oskar switched the main wires of the speakers...he got only one side of the speakers working. Sure enough Cine called a sound guy. He pointed out the most simplest thing that I couldn't have caught for myself. The rca's of the cdj's were connected wrong to the mixer! I felt so dumb at the moment! What I really liked about the whole situation was Tanner was not being a diva at all. He kept his cool the whole way. The last hour the sound was working correctly. That's when I took I don't know how many shots to cool off.
There was one last thing that kind of got me on the bad side again. I had heard there was some guys (djs) that did not want to pay the cover at the door. Or they "knew the owner". Come on guys, this event was only $7!!! You can find change off the floor with that! This is a good reason why promoters stop doing events for this so called "scene". On top of that...they say the headliner "sucked". I mean if you have the internet a lot of people knew this dj was way different from the ordinary. I didn't push this show as 'slow n sexy' for a reason. That's like saying if I go to another weekly or event and bad mouth about it. Who does that?
Well anyway I'm still going to continue doing this great parties. For myself, friends and music lovers. Oh yeah...the after-party for this event...was CRAZY! Great/awesome party over all even if there were some glitches in it. We managed on fixing them.
